Grandma Singleton's Piccalilli Cheese Scones

Serves 8 - 10



200g Grandma Singleton's Piccalilli Cheese
225g Flour, self raising
50g Butter, salted
160ml Milk whole
Salt & Pepper



  1. Weigh all ingredients as listed above.
  2. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees C.
  3. Sieve the flour into a bowl, add the cold butter and rub into a crumb.
  4. Crumble in the piccalilli cheese, add the milk, season and stir into a slightly sticky dough.
  5. lightly dust a surface with flour, knead the dough slightly.
  6. Roll out the dough until roughly 2cm thick.  Cut out the scones with a round plain cutter until all the dough is used.
  7. Place on a non-stick baking tray.  Brush the tops of the scones with milk.
  8. Bake the scones for 8 - 10 minutes until golden brown.
